Conference Participation and Deadlines

Volunteer to present or discuss a paper, or chair a session online!

Present a Paper..................................Deadline December 15, 2004
Send the following to WEAI:

Cover sheet with paper presenter’s name, professional affiliation, mailing address, phone and fax numbers, e-mail address, academic degrees held; same information for coauthors; paper title (limit 60 characters and spaces); and paper’s topic area (three appropriate codes from the JEL “Classification System for Journal Articles” appearing in recent JEL editions or at http://www.aeaweb.org/journal/elclasjn.html).

Abstract of 350 words or less.

Submission fee of $70 for WEAI members, $130 for nonmembers (or pay $60 dues, plus $70 submission fee). This fee is in addition to the registration fee, but is waived for papers in organized sessions. Submission fee is non-refundable if paper is accepted. WEAI Institutional Member affiliates receive a 20 percent discount on conference submission and registration fees.


Organize a Session...............................Deadline February 1, 2005
Members may organize their own sessions. Submission fees for all papers in such sessions are waived. Institutional member affiliates who organize sessions receive complimentary conference registration. For more information, read the Guidelines for Conference Session Organizers.


Discuss a Paper or Chair a Session.............Deadline March 1, 2005

Discuss a paper and give others the benefits of your expertise. Discussants are needed in all topic areas. Chair a session and foster the exchange of ideas. 


Opportunities to Publish Your Conference Paper 

Contemporary Economic Policy (CEP) and Economic Inquiry (EI) waive manuscript submission fees for WEAI members who submit conference papers within six months after the conference.


Participating Organizations

WEAI Annual Conferences regularly include participation by several allied organizations. Recently, those organizations have included the AEA Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession, American Academy of Economic and Financial Experts, American Rehabilitation Economics Association, Anti-Trust Bulletin, Association for Social Economics, Association for University Business and Economic Research, Canadian Agricultural Economics Society, Chinese Economic Association of North America, Contemporary Economic Policy, International Economics and Finance Society, Industrial Organization Society, National Association of Forensic Economics, Society of Government Economists, and the Western Agricultural Economic Association.
